Applying for an Absentee Ballot


Voters who meet the qualifications to vote an absentee ballot by mail may call 859-255-8683 to request an application or email the request to voter registration at voters@fayettecountyclerk.com .  Please include the reason for the request, the voter's name and Fayette County address.  Once the completed application is returned the absentee ballot and instructions for voting the ballot will be mailed. 

Voters who meet the qualifications to vote an absentee ballot in person prior to election day may do so during the walk-in absentee voting period.  Voters must present their identification and they will fill out an application stating their reason for voting absentee before casting their ballot.  In Fayette County the hours for voting in the office are 8:00-4:30 Monday through Friday.  Walk-in Absentee Voting Dates for the November 8, 2016 election are October 12th through November 7th.

Voters who need to cast a mail-in ballot due to military service or voters who live overseas may also apply for a ballot through the Federal Voting Assistance Program or the State Board of Elections .
