The majority of jobs at the Fayette County Clerk's Office involve clerical duties, customer service, and working on a computer. You should also enjoy working with the public and be detail-oriented.

The current starting annual salary for a clerical/customer service position is $38,500. Our regular work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer the following benefits: retirement plan; health, dental and life insurance; 13.5 days vacation (increases with length of service); paid holidays; paid parking.

Requirements for employment:

  1. Must be a high school graduate (or have a GED)
  2. Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute (on computer keyboard)
  3. Must be able to pass a general knowledge test based on the GED test
