The Vault is currently open to the public with no appointments required.
- The recording window is open for in-person recording from 8:00a - 4:00p each business day. Mail-in recordings should go to Fayette County Clerk, Room 132, 162 E. Main St., Lexington, KY 40507. There is a document drop-box in the parking garage at our facility. We also accept e-recordings through CSC, ePN, and Simplifile.
- No food or drink other than bottles with secure caps may be brought into the Vault.
- A copier is available for self-service use in the Vault. Please confirm with staff that your firm account information has been added to the copier login list.
- As of January 3, 2022, we began indexing as written on the document rather than using our standard abbreviation list and frequent party names. Lists of standard abbreviations and frequent parties can be found here for your reference. Please note that this may affect your search process.
The Kentucky County Clerks Association has formally adopted the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) standards for Real Estate Document Formatting as of January1, 2020.
