Fiscal Court & Property Tax Appeals

Fiscal Court meetings are set each year by action of the Court.  In 2024, the Fiscal Court will meet on April 11, May 16, and June 13, at 1:30 pm.

**The Fayette Fiscal Court will hold a special meeting on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 11:00 via teleconference with agenda to be: Review and Approval of the Fayette County Magisterial Reapportionment Commission Final Report.**.

Regular meetings are held both in-person at the Fayette County Clerk's Office, 162 E. Main Street, 2nd Floor Conference Room, and by teleconference on the Zoom platform.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY LOCAL BOARD OF PROPERTY TAX APPEALS

The Fayette PVA will hold conferences during the open inspection period that ends May 15, 2023.  If property owners wish to appeal their assessed fair cash value, they must file an appeal with the Fayette County Clerk by close of business, May 17, 2023.  For Local Property Tax Appeal Information: fccappeal@fayettecountyclerk.com or (859) 253-3344

The Fayette County Clerk's Office will begin accepting appeal forms after the PVA Open Inspection period begins in mid-April.  Appeal process form and instructions for 2023: Form 

Appeal hearings are held at the LFUCG Phoenix Building, 101 E. Vine Street, 1st Floor Conference Room, Lexington, KY 40507.  In 2023, the appeal hearings will begin on June 21st and continue until all appeals are heard.

2020 Magisterial Reapportionment

The Fayette County Magisterial Reapportionment Commission met on May 30 and June 22, 2023 regarding reapportionment of precincts for Fayette County magisterial districts based on the 2020 decennial census data.  Their report was submitted to the Urban County Council for further review and action.  Reapportionment Commission members are: William Wilson, Richard Young, Barbara Sutherland.
