Vault Appointments and Remote Access Accounts


Access to our land records index and some scanned documents (back to @1990 for many documents, and all plats are scanned) is available through our remote system. To open an account, please contact us at mwatson@fayettecountyclerk.com or (859) 253-3344 for information and an application. There is a $200.00 connection fee to initialize your account, and the system charges usage fees at $.25/minute.  We are waiving usage fees until further notice to mitigate potential COVID exposure for our staff and researchers.

Appointments to conduct research, obtain copies, or drop documents for recordings in person are available.

Appointments are available from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each business day.  You may schedule concurrent appointments.  Several missed appointments may result in future appointments being cancelled. 

**Please cancel any appointment slots that you do not need prior to the appointment time so that the appointment is available for another researcher.**

  • Masks are required.
  • No food or drink other than bottles with secure caps may be brought into the Vault. 
  • You are responsible for cleaning your workstation with the provided materials prior to your departure.
  • A copier is available for self-service use in the Vault.  Please check with the counter prior to first use to be sure your firm copy account has been added to the copier records. All copies must be made prior to the end of your appointment time.
  • Check-in is at the 1st floor entrance to the building on Main Street.  If you leave the building during your appointment, you must come back through the check-in entrance.
